Drug Tests - The Maryland Guide to Wage Payment and Employment Standards

Generally, when following specific legal procedures and for "legitimate business purpose(s)", Maryland employers may require employees to be tested for the illegal use of alcohol and drugs. [ Maryland Annotated Code, Health-General Article, Section 17-214.]

Such tests should be conducted at the employer's expense.
