The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation ("DLLR")
has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy.
Security Measures
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss,
misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.
DLLR uses secure servers and Microsoft Internet Information Services
(IIS) servers for electronic commerce transactions. The system
uses a protocol called "Secure Sockets Layer" ("SSL")
which allows private information, such as credit cards and purchase
orders, to remain private when traveling across intranets and
the public internet. SSL also supports authentication to verify
that a client is communicating with an intended server. Encryption
is utilized to prevent data from being understood by an unintended
party, and to insure that date was not altered in transit.

Some of the online applications on this website use‘temporary
cookies’ to track user navigation and hold your session information.
If you have turned off ‘cookies’ within your browser options,
then you could experience technical difficulties with this site.

E-mail Address
Our sites registration form requires you, the user, to enter certain information, such
as your name and e-mail address. We retain the content of your e-mail, e-mail
address, and our response so that we can more efficiently handle any follow-up questions
that you may have. In addition, your e-mail address helps us identify you and your needs,
and also it may used to gather a demographic and survey information.
Other personal information/Payments over the Internet
In addition, we require you to include your other personal information,
such as your social security number and your credit card number. DLLR
does not release that information to other parties, except in the
event we are required to do it by law or as a part of a DLLR- or
State-wide contract. For example, DLLR is currently under a contract
with Cyber Cash, an entity which provides various mechanisms enabling
a secure credit card payments over the Internet.
On-line surveys
Our on-line surveys may ask you for your contact information, such as your e-mail address.
This information is not sold or made public.

This site contains links to other sites. DLLR is not responsible for the privacy practices or
the content of such other web sites. These links are provided as an information service
only.
Parent Approval
DLLRs web site does not accept or request information from children - we do not have any means
of age identification. We do not collect online or offline contact information without prior
parental consent. In the event we receive unsolicited online information without prior
parental consent, that information will only be used to respond directly to the
childs request and will not be used for any other purposes.
Public Forums
This site makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its users.
Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public
information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal
information.
Electronic Licensing
As you may be aware, DLLR provides certain users with the opportunity to renew their
licenses, make legal name changes, query active licenses and communicate with regulatory
boards. Certain licensing information is made public as displayed in our public queries
section. In the event you have any questions with regard to that service, please send
e-mail to your regulatory board by going to the individual boards page and clicking
on the e-mail for the individual board.
