System Testing – November, 2017 to May, 2018

Employers and third-party agents will be invited to test their wage submission files in phases throughout the testing period. Testing prior to system implementation is recommended but not required.

Preparing for Wage File Submission

In preparation for launching the new UI data system, called the Reemployment BEACON, employers and Third-Party Agents are encouraged to review the instructions for file preparation using one of the file formats below. Acceptable file formats are: .csv, xml, icesa, and efw2.This only applies if you currently, or plan to, submit your reports using wage upload. Employers who currently upload wages using the Maryland Format (80 characters) and Maryland Format (34 characters) should begin preparations to discontinue using them. The new Reemployment BEACON online portal will only accept csv, xml, icesa and efw2 file formats.

If you currently file your wage reports by entering employee and wage information directly into the current system, you will continue to be able to do so in the new system.  You do not need to use one of the four file formats listed below.
