Maryland Lighthouse Industries Upskilling and Reskilling Program - Workforce Development & Adult Learning
Overview
To support Maryland workers and help employers meet critical hiring needs, MD Labor launched the Maryland Lighthouse Industries Upskilling and Reskilling Program, a $1 million competitive grant initiative designed to strengthen transferable and emerging technology skills in industries essential to the state’s economic growth, including life sciences, technology, aerospace and defense, and manufacturing. Grant awards of up to $200,000 support the upskilling and reskilling of jobseekers and incumbent workers through training programs developed in partnership with employers to address real-world workforce needs. Applications were accepted through April 2026, and seven grantees were selected to receive funding, with awarded projects beginning in June 2026.
