Maryland Lighthouse Industries and AI Internship Program - Workforce Development & Adult Learning
To help ensure Maryland’s future workforce is aware of and prepared for careers in sectors critical to the state’s economy, MD Labor launched the Maryland Lighthouse Industries and AI Internship Program through leveraged funding from the Talent Innovation Fund (TIF) and the Cyber Maryland program. The program supports internships and career preparation opportunities for college seniors and recent graduates in life sciences, technology, aerospace and defense, and manufacturing.
Through the program, MD Labor awarded funding to 23 Maryland employers to create new internship positions, providing interns with valuable hands-on experience and career preparation while helping employers develop their future workforce. Grant funding supports intern wages, administrative program costs, and supportive services such as transportation, childcare, employment assistance, and other wraparound supports. The grants launched in March 2026.
