For Consumers - Certified Interior Designers
The title “Certified Interior Designer” is regulated in Maryland under the provisions of Business Occupations and Professions Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, Title 8, and the Code of Maryland Regulations, Title 9, Subtitle 18.
In accordance with Maryland Law, a person may not represent to the public, by use of a title, “certified interior designer” or the term “certified interior design services” unless certified by the State Board.
Before hiring or entering a contract with a design professional, the Board of Certified Interior Designers strongly recommends verifying that the individual(s) or firm is currently licensed and in good standing.
