November 2025 Standardbred Rulings - Maryland Racing Commission

RCR 25-023 November 2, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Trainer Lorenzo De Simone was the trainer of record on horse SPY BOOTH in the 11th race on October 16th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. Post-race analysis of blood sample #E722051 taken from SPY BOOTH identified the presence of Flunixin at a concentration of 9.28 pg/mL ± 0.53 pg/mL. The threshold for this controlled therapeutic medication is 5 pg/mL. As a result, Mr. De Simone shall be fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. Additionally, SPY BOOTH is disqualified, finishing 1st and placed 9th; and there shall be a purse redistribution. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B. 1/2 Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) point assessed.

RCR 25-024 November 10, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Driver Eric Davis is fined $100.00 for failing to keep a line in each hand in the stretch, using a taunting motion, while driving DOOBIE CRUZE in the 12th race on November 6th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33A(6)(a)

RCR 25-025 November 21, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Trainer Basil Sapienza was the trainer of record on horse BLUFFS CRUSH in the 11th race on November 6th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. Pre-race analysis of blood sample #E722061 taken from BLUFFS CRUSH identified a TCO2 concentration of 41.2 ± 2.7 mmol/L. This exceeds the maximum TCO2 concentration allowed per Maryland Racing Commission guidelines. As a result, Mr. Sapienza is fined $1,000.00 and shall return all purse monies. Mr. Sapienza shall also be issued a 30-day full suspension from November 17th, 2025 through December 16th, 2025. During this suspension, he and all horses trained and/or owned by him are barred from the grounds under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, BLUFFS CRUSH is disqualified, finishing fourth and shall be placed seventh. BLUFFS CRUSH shall also be placed on the steward’s list from November 17th, 2025 through December 16th, 2025. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.02 Addendum A-11. RCR 25-026 November 24, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Trainer Dylan George is fined $100.00 for failing to bring WISEMOON for Lasix administration within the designated time for the 5th race on November 20th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR:09.10.03.08A F(1).(3)(c)

RCR 25-027 November 24, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Driver Kevin Altig was the programmed driver on horse WINDMERE FRANK in the 6th race on November 20th, 2025. Mr. Altig is fined $100.00 for failing to maintain reasonable control of his horse, repeatedly running up and into the back of another driver past the ¾ pole. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33.H(k)

RCR 25-028 November 24, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Driver Justin Vincent was the programmed driver on horse NAUGHTY MURPHEE in the 7th race on November 20th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. Mr. Vincent is suspended from driving for three (3) days from November 21st, 2025 through November 23rd, 2025 for hooking wheels after the start with horse ALEXANDRIA’S DREAM.
