RCR 25-013 May 7, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Driver Tim Deaton is fined $150.00 for interference before the wire (hooking wheels) with DERBY DOG HANOVER while driving FAST CHAT in the 6th race on May 3rd, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. FAST CHAT finished 3rd and was placed 5th. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33 H(1)(b).

RCR 25-014 May 15, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Trainer Michael Hall was the trainer of record on horse COVENTRY HALL in the 12th race on December 18th, 2024, at Rosecroft Raceway. Post-race analysis of blood sample #E721121 taken from COVENTRY HALL identified the presence of ADB-Fubinaca. This was identified by the primary Maryland Racing Commission laboratory, Industrial Laboratories. At Hall’s request, a split sample was sent to the University of California, Davis for confirmatory analysis, which confirmed the presence of ADB-Fubinaca in the blood. As a result, Hall is fined $2,500.00 and must return all purse monies. Given credit for 76 days served (last training start at Bally’s Dover on February 27th, 2025), Hall will be issued a 284-day full suspension from May 14th, 2025 through February 21st, 2026. During this suspension, he and all horses trained and/or owned by him are barred from the grounds under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, COVENTRY HALL is disqualified, finishing first and placed ninth. Once Hall’s suspension is completed, he must reapply and receive approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to obtain licensure. Aggravating and mitigating factors were considered in the determination of this ruling. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B.
