June 2025 Standardbred Rulings - Maryland Racing Commission

RCR 25-015 June 4, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Trainer Mollie McGeoch was the trainer of record on horse CHAROLETTES CHOICE in the 12th race on May 14th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. Post-race analysis of blood sample #E721873 taken from CHAROLETTES CHOICE identified the presence of Medroxyprogesterone. As a result, McGeoch is fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. She will also be issued a 15-day full suspension from June 3rd, 2025 through June 17th, 2025. During this suspension, she and all horses trained and/or owned by her are barred from the grounds under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, CHAROLETTES CHOICE is disqualified, finishing first and placed ninth, and will be placed on the steward’s list from June 3rd, 2025 through June 17th, 2025 as well. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B. Four Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) points assessed.

RCR 25-016 June 30, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Investigative barn and truck/trailer searches were conducted on April 7th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. During these searches, several unlabeled bottles with an unknown liquid were found and confiscated belonging to trainer Eugene Robinson. The contents of these bottles were sent for analysis to Industrial Laboratories, which reported the presence of Sildenafil and Tadalafil. As a result, Robinson is issued a fine of $1,000.00. Additionally, he will be issued a 30-day full suspension from June 23rd, 2025 through July 22nd, 2025. During this suspension, he and all horses owned and/or trained by him are barred from the grounds under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR:09.10.03.03.A(19)(a)

Ruling: OD 25-001 June 2, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver Jacob Roglitz is fined $100.00 for inappropriate use of the whip (one-handed whipping) while driving ONE COOL CAT in the 10th race on June 1st, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.03.03 A(14)

Ruling: OD 25-002 June 10, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Trainer Scott Scofield is fined $500.00 for mistreating horse FOX VALLEY MAMBA in the paddock before the 10th race on June 8th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.03.03A(14)

Ruling: OD 25-003 June 10, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver Hugh O`Neil is fined $100.00 for inappropriate use of the whip (one-handed whipping) while driving NORM AT WORK in the 2nd race on June 9th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33H(17)(b)

Ruling: OD 25-004 June 10, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver James Atkinson is fined $100.00 for inappropriate use of the whip (one-handed whipping) while driving FREEDOM EXPRESS in the 7th race on June 9th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33H(17)(b)

Ruling: OD 25-005 June 13, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver Mark Gray is fined $100.00 for inappropriate use of the whip (one-handed whipping) in the stretch while driving IDEAL WISH in the 2nd race on June 11th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33H(17)(b)

Ruling: OD 25-006 June 18, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Trainer Scott Scofield was the trainer of record on horse RACER PACER in the 3rd race on May 25th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. Post-race analysis of blood sample #E624363 taken from RACER PACER identified the presence of Isoflupredone at a concentration of 146 pg/mL+-18 pg/mL. The threshold for this controlled therapeutic medication is 100 pg/mL. As a result, Scofield is fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. Additionally, RACER PACER is disqualified, finishing first and placed seventh. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. Ruling: OD 25-007 June 22, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver Johnathan Ahle is fined $100.00 for being late for the breathalyzer prior to his first drive on June 18th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR 09.10.02.41(I)(1)
