April 2025 Standardbred Rulings - Maryland Racing Commission

RCR 25-009 April 2, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Trainer Jared Moyer, for being the trainer of record on sample #E721329 taken from K J MICHAEL on March 17th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway, was found to contain Betamethasone at a concentration of 12.7 pg/mL +- 1.1 pg/mL. The ARCI threshold for this controlled therapeutic substance is 10 pg/mL. As a result, Moyer is fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. Additionally, K J MICHAEL is disqualified, finishing first and placed eighth. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B. 1/2 Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) point assessed.

RCR 25-010 April 9, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Driver Jonathan Ahle is fined $150.00 for interference (hooking wheels) going to the 3/4 pole with TOM’S TWILIGHT while driving JACK QUICK in the 11th race on April 7th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33 H(1)(b).

RCR 25-011 April 9, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Trainer Alexandra Goldin, for being trainer of record on pre-race blood sample #E721646 taken from MARCO BEACH on March 31st, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway, was found to contain a Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) concentration of 40.4+-1.9 mmol/L. This exceeds the maximum TCO2 concentration allowed per Maryland Racing Commission guidelines. As a result, Goldin is fined $1,000.00, and must return all purse monies. Goldin will also be issued a 30-day full suspension from April 9th, 2025 through May 8th, 2025. During this suspension, she and all horses trained and/or owned by her are barred from the grounds, under jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, MARCO BEACH is disqualified, finishing fifth and is placed eighth. MARCO BEARCH is also placed on the stewards list from April 9th, 2025 through May 8th, 2025. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.02 Addendum A-11. Four Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) points assessed.

Trainer Alexandra Goldin has appealed the ruling of the Rosecroft Raceway judges (RCR25-011) on April 9th, 2025.

RCR 25-012 April 30, 2025 - Rosecroft Raceway

Driver Eugene Robinson is fined $150.00 for interference going to the ¾ pole (causing another horse to make a break) with ALWAYS ON TOP while driving NORTHERN NETWORK in the 6th race on April 28th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. NORTHERN NETWORK finished 7th and was placed 9th. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received.
