How do I get a copy of my transcript or diploma? - Adult Education and Literacy Services
Requesting A GED® Transcript Or Duplicate Diploma:
Go to the GED Testing Service website and click the Grads and Transcripts tab and follow the directions for obtaining an electronic or paper transcript or duplicate diploma.
STOP! Did you pass the GED test in 2009 or earlier in Maryland?
If yes, your official diploma record may only contain your year of birth. To ensure you receive an official transcript with your complete information, please email the Maryland Office of Adult Education & Literacy Services at [email protected] before ordering your official transcript through Parchment.
In your email, provide your name as it appears on your diploma, date of birth, the year you passed the GED test and your current address. If possible, send your information through secure email.
We strongly encourage you to verify your information with the Maryland Office of Adult Education & Literacy Services before placing your order to avoid reordering another transcript.
Attention Third Parties: Please send the graduate’s name as it appears on their diploma, date of birth, the year they passed the GED test and their current address along with a signed release from the graduate to verify their date of birth is correct before ordering an official transcript or requesting an official verification from Parchment. If possible, send your information through secure email.
The FAQ for test takers and GED® Test Takers Parchment Support provide more information. Transcripts or diplomas cannot be picked up in person.
Current testers receive directions about obtaining their diploma and transcript via email immediately after passing the fourth module. After passing the GED® test, you will automatically receive one free paper diploma, one free electronic diploma, and one free electronic transcript. You must take action to receive your transcript or diploma.
Electronic Diploma and Transcript
The electronic diploma and transcript download links will be e-mailed to the e-mail address associated with your GED®account once you have passed all GED® test subjects and earned your diploma.
Links are only available for a limited time, so be sure to download your electronic documents right away.
Follow the instructions provided in the e-mail. These PDF documents are very valuable since they can be forwarded to employers and colleges that accept electronic credentials.
The PDF documents are verified by GED Testing Service/Parchment each time they are opened using Blue Ribbon Security. The blue ribbon symbol displayed in the PDF is assurance that the digital credential is valid, the document is authentic, and the contents of the credential have not been altered.
Printed Diploma
The printed diploma can be ordered in your GED® account at GED.com. After logging in, go to My Scores and select Order Duplicates. Select Diploma option and then select the Printed Diploma.
You will then be asked who and what address you want the diploma to be mailed to.
Carefully follow the instructions presented during the ordering process.
If you earned your diploma through public schools, contact your local school district.
