#21-008 In the matter of stable employee Anthony Johnson:
On January 10, 2021 Mr. Johnson was requested to deliver a urine sample by the MRC Investigators. The specimen he rendered tested positive for heroin.

A hearing was held on January 10, 2021. Mr. Johnson appeared in the absence of counsel and waived his right thereto. Based upon the testimony and evidence presented at the hearing, the Stewards found Anthony Johnson in violation of COMAR 09.10.03.05 Drug Prohibition-Humans.

Accordingly, the Stewards hereby order:

(1) That the license issued to Anthony Johnson be suspended until such time as he has been
professionally evaluated

(2) That while he is under suspension, Mr. Johnson be denied the privileges of all the grounds
under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission.

On January 17, 2021 trainer, John Robb filed an appeal with the Maryland Racing Commission. The appeal contests the Stewards' decision to not disqualify the horse “Invest” from first position.

As a result of that appeal, the second race on January 17, 2021, is hereby declared in dispute and the following ordered to remain in effect until the dispute has been settled by the Maryland Racing Commission:

(1) The purse monies affected by the dispute are to be held by the Horsemen's Bookkeeper.

#21-019 In the seventh race, at Laurel Park on January 18, 2021, horse #8 “Bernie’s On Fire”, ridden by jockey Victor Carrasco was disqualified
from second position and placed third. Just past the 1/8th pole, #8 “Bernie’s On Fire” drifted out, was straightened out, came out again late and bumped with #9 “Seven On the Rocks” beating this horse in a tight finish.

#21-020 In the matter of the fifth race at Laurel Park on November 26, 2020;

On January 18, 2021 owner Leo Nechamkin withdrew his appeal with the Maryland Racing Commission. The 5th race from November 26, 2021 is now declared official.

The purse monies affected by the dispute are to be released by the Horsemen's Bookkeeper.

#21-022 In the matter of the seventh race at Laurel Park on January 18, 2021, regarding the Offical result.

On January 22, 2021 trainer, William Campbell filed an appeal with the Maryland Racing Commission. The appeal contests the Stewards' decision to not disqualify the horse “Redeem Eddie” from first position. “Seven On the Rocks” was moved up to second position by the disqualification of Bernie’s On Fire from second to third position.

As a result of that appeal, the seventh race on January 18, 2021, is hereby declared in dispute and the following ordered to remain in effect until the dispute has been settled by the Maryland Racing Commission:

(1) Both “Redeem Eddie” and “Seven On the Rocks” shall be subject to all penalties attached to the
winner of the race

(2) The purse monies affected by the dispute are to be held by the Horsemen's Bookkeeper.

#21-023 In the matter of the ninth race at Laurel Park on January 16, 2021, regarding the Offical result:

On January 16, 2021 shortly after the end of the race card, the Stewards were notified that the third place finisher “Alpha Queue” had weighed back in five pounds light from the assigned weight. The Stewards reviewed video of the scale and determined a violation had occurred. Trainer Lacey Guadet was notified of the violation and made aware that her horse must be disqualified.

As a result of the incident, “Alpha Queue” is disqualified and the purse redistributed as follows.

#21-025 In the first race, at Laurel Park on January 29, 2021, horse #5 “Dinosaur Ben”, ridden by jockey Ferrin Peterson was disqualified
from second position and placed third. Just past the 1/8th pole, #5 “Dinosaur Ben” drifted over, into the path of #3 “Ice Rain” ridden by jockey, Forrest Boyce forcing said rider to check sharply to avoid clipping heels.
