Workshops for Contractors to Help Them Understand U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contracts

 

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), in conjunction with the Small Business Administration (SBA), will host two workshops for contractors to help them qualify for Army Corps of Engineers contracts. SBA will provide detailed guidance on the federal procurement/contracting process, and respond to questions and concerns raised by the attendees.

Topics:

  1. Introduction to the basics of defense contracting for small businesses.
     
  2. Procurement Regulations - Federal Acquisition Regulations, Contracts, Getting on the GSA Schedule, and Procurement Technical Assistance.
     
  3. Contracting Requirements – Safety, Certifications and Security Clearance, Quality Control, and Past Performance.
    Small business presents best practices – Wilhelm Commercial Builders – Baltimore event, Waldon Studio Architects – Prince George’s event.
     
  4. Federal Contracting Support for Small Business - such as 8(a) Business Development Program, HUBZone Program, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses and Women-Owned Small Businesses.
     
  5. Financing Assistance
