HVACR Inspector

Option 1: Hold a current state HVACR Master, Master Restricted or Journey license (the current license must be returned to the Board and will be inactivated).

Option 2: Hold a current Building Officials and Code Administrators, Inc. (BOCA) certification in one of the following classifications:

• mechanical inspector
• mechanical plans examiner
• plumbing inspector
• plumbing plans examiner
• one- and two-family dwelling combination inspector
• one- and two-family dwelling mechanical inspector
• one- and two-family dwelling plumbing inspector

Option 3: Fulfill both of the following requirements:

• Have at least 4 years experience as an inspector or mechanic in the mechanical building and construction trade including heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration; and

• Successfully pass an examination approved by the State board.
