Maryland Department of Labor to Host 2nd Annual Employment Rights and Safety Forum

Division of Labor and Industry to address safety, compliance and employment law regulations

BALTIMORE, MD (February 14, 2013) - The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation's (DLLR) Division of Labor and Industry (DLI) will host the 2nd Annual Employment Rights and Safety Forum on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Towson University West Commons. The event will feature interactive workshops, panel presentations and various sessions on safety, compliance and employment law regulations.

"As part of our commitment to ensuring Maryland is a safe and healthy place to live and work, the Division of Labor and Industry is taking proactive steps to educate employers, industry leaders and workers alike of our effort to help protect and promote the health, safety and rights of all Maryland employees," said Ron DeJuliis, DLLR Commissioner of Labor and Industry.

The 2012 Employment Rights and Safety Forum drew more than 600 business owners and professionals spanning every industry from construction companies to legal firms. Based on the feedback received, this year's event will incorporate more opportunities for participants to get involved in the conversation and have a hands on experience by putting some of the principles into practice.

There is no cost to attend; however, space is limited. Please log onto the forum registration site to register. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. For more information, please contact Melissa Myer at 410.767.2182 or via email at mmyer@dllr.state.md.us.
