Business Employment Dynamics Analysis |
| |
Business Employment Dynamics (BED) is a set of statistics
generated from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW)
program. The QCEW Program in Maryland is a cooperative program involving
the Bureau
of Labor Statistics (BLS) of the U.S.
Department of Labor and the Maryland Department of Labor,
Licensing and Regulation (DLLR). BED quarterly data series consist
of gross job gains and gross job losses statistics for the entire
economy from 1992 forward. These data track changes in employment
at the establishment level, and thus provide a picture of the dynamics
underlying aggregate net employment growth statistics.
