Requirements - Fundamentals of Engineering Exam - Maryland Board for Professional Engineers

An applicant may qualify if he or she:
- has graduated from a college or university on completion
of a ABET/EAC-accredited 4-year curriculum in engineering; or
- has one of the following "unapproved" degrees
and meets the requirements of the Curriculum Checklist:
a. 4-year engineering degree from a college or university
in the US (not ABET/EAC approved)
b. 4-year engineering technology degree (either approved
or unapproved by ABET/EAC) from a college or university
in the US
c. a degree from a foreign institution
d. any other degree; or
- is in the process of completing a 4-year curriculum in
engineering at a college or university within 6 months after
the exam. An original, signed letter from the Registrar
or from the Office of the Dean of the Engineering Department
must be sent directly to the Board from the college or university
stating that the college or university expects the applicant
to complete the curriculum within 6 months after the exam.
A transcript must also be sent to the Board.
