VETERANS INFORMATION SEMINAR - This workshop will cover topics of interest to Military Veterans. The topic for January 2013 is "Effective Résumés." To attend this workshop, call John Hamilton, Veterans Representative, at 301-393-8221.

 

WEEKLY WORKSHOPS - Information presented on Job Center Orientation/Job Search Basics (learn about the Job Center and its services, as well as tips for how to approach your job search, how to get organized, and where to find job leads); Internet Job Search (learn how to use the Internet for job search and improving success with online applications); Using E-mail (learn how to reduce time and effort while accessing more employment opportunities); and Interviewing Techniques (learn employers' tips about successful interviewing to get the job).

RÉSUMÉ REVIEW - Are you getting results with your current résumé? A Certified Professional Résumé Writer will review your résumé and give you suggestions on ways to improve it. Simply come to the Washington County One-Stop Job Center on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. You need to bring a current résumé with you and be enrolled in Maryland's Workforce Exchange to take advantage of this service. You can enroll at Maryland Workforce Exchange.

DEPARTMENT of AGING - is a national, non-profit organization that provides employment services and training for qualifying seniors, age 55 years or older. Call 301-393-8243 for an appointment.
