Fundamentals of Engineering Examination Application Instructions Review


An applicant may qualify if the applicant:

Option 1
Has graduated from a college or university on completion of a 4-year curriculum in engineering that is an ABET/EAC accredited curriculum.
If you qualify under this option, you can apply directly to NCEES on their website (www.ncees.org). Pre-approval by the Board is not needed.

Option 2
Has one of the following “unapproved degrees” and meets the requirements of the Curriculum Checklist:
  a.     4-year engineering degree from a college/university in the U.S. that is not ABET/EAC approved.
  b. 4-year engineering technology degree (either approved or unapproved by ABET/TAC) from a college/university in the United States.
  c. A degree from a foreign institution.
  d. Any other degree;

Option 3
Is in the process of completing a 4-year curriculum or graduate program in engineering at a college or university within 6 months after the exam.
If you qualify under this option, you can apply directly to NCEES on their website (www.ncees.org). Pre-approval by the Board is not needed.
